Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does DCC make therapy affordable for clients?
We offer a sliding scale fee structure based on annual household income. Our clients currently pay between $20 and $60 per session, making us one of the most affordable counseling services in the Denver metro area. If you have concerns about affordability, we encourage you to call us and discuss our flexible pricing options.
  • Is counseling at DCC faith-based?
Our counselors are trained to provide clinical counseling, which is different from biblical or pastoral counseling. If you bring matters of faith or spirituality into session, our counselors are happy to meet you there. If you'd prefer not to incorporate those topics, that's not a problem at all.
  • What does the intake process at DCC entail?
The intake process begins with a 20-35 minute phone questionnaire with our clinic staff. This call is scheduled at your earliest convenience and is free of charge. After that, individual adult clients will be scheduled for a 50-minute intake session, while minors, couples, and families will jump right into weekly treatment sessions.
  • Will DCC accept my insurance?
We do not work directly with insurance and we're not a Medicaid- approved provider, which excludes us from working with anyone who is a Medicaid recipient. We can offer you referrals if this applies to you!
  • Who are the counselors at DCC?
DCC is staffed by student counselors who are equipped to work with clients throughout Colorado. Our counselors work with clients in a variety of areas and are supervised by experienced professionals in the field. Our mission is to meet you exactly where you are and offer resources as you navigate this season of your life.
  • How can I get started with Denver Counseling Center (DCC)?
To start, call our clinic staff to discuss what you're looking for and schedule a time to conduct an intake questionnaire over the phone. If you prefer email communication, submit our contact form and someone will respond to you with the next steps.
  • What kind of counseling services does DCC offer?
DCC provides accessible and affordable counseling services to Coloradans both via Telehealth and in-person sessions. We can help with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, faith and spirituality, grief and loss, identity challenges, life transitions and adjustments, parenting and family dynamics, relationship struggles, and issues related to sexuality.
  • How quickly can I start therapy sessions after the intake process?
In most cases, therapy sessions can be booked within a week of the time you complete your phone intake.
